Some conceptual approaches to the new version of the Criminal Code of Ukraine

Abstract

The need to reform the current Criminal Code of Ukraine is now recognized by the vast majority of Ukrainian scholars and practitioners working in the field of criminal law. Numerous (more than a thousand) changes and additions to it, which were made during the years of its operation, turned the Criminal Code into a cumbersome, poorly systematized document which is difficult to understand not only ordinary citizens to whom it is, in principle, addressed, but also professionals education. Therefore, the initiative to implement its in-depth reform should be fully supported.
