The research is caused by necessity to define the methodological principles, which are a tool in the study of transitional processes of post-communist, Soviet societies. The Novelty and topicality are caused too by the democratic vector of development of countries and to which Ukraine belongs. Analysis of scientific achievements in the field of political transit is necessary for the theoretical generalization and perception of this process as a system. Among the methodological approaches in the study of political transitology are structural, procedural and integrative.
The changes that took place in the 1990s, primarily in the countries of the socialist bloc, became the main content of a new stage in the development of the methodology of political transit. The emphasis on the peculiarities that occur in the conditions of transit to democracy, allowed to distinguish methodological approaches to the study of the temporality of transit and its possible results.
However, the analysis of modern transitional processes in the post-communist, Soviet space is impossible without the methodological approaches of non-classical theories of development. It should be noted, that the application of a specific historical method helps in the historical fixation and determination of the directions of the evolution of the transit process in the study of the features of each of the waves of democratization.
At the same time, the comparative method allows to identify general trends of democratic change in countries of different waves of democratization and to identify specific features of the functioning of regimes in countries where the transition process was influenced by different external and internal conditions.
Thus there is an urgent need to update the conceptual approaches that underlie political transitions - transits, focusing on the study of political regimes and mechanisms of political transit, which is considered by political transitology.
