Due to the ongoing Russian military invasion of Ukraine, the peer-review process at our journal has experienced significant delays. A number of our reviewers are currently engaged in defending Ukraine from the occupying forces. We understand that this may cause inconvenience to some authors, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We remain confident that Ukraine will prevail, and the Physics and Chemistry of Solid State journal will soon return to full operational capacity with even greater impact.

In light of the current situation, the journal is temporarily not accepting manuscripts from authors affiliated with institutions in the Russian Federation. This policy reflects our concern that scientific research — particularly in fields such as physics and chemistry — may be used for dual-use purposes, including military applications. In the case of the Russian Federation, this raises serious ethical concerns related to the ongoing aggression and its alignment with actions that can be interpreted as supporting international terrorism.

These restrictions are temporary and will be lifted when the following conditions are met: the complete withdrawal of Russian forces from all occupied Ukrainian territories, the full payment of reparations, and the establishment of a verified demilitarized zone within the territory of the Russian Federation.

Our editorial team remains committed to the principles of open science and international collaboration. We look forward to a future in which scientific progress is once again guided solely by peace, cooperation, and mutual respect.
