Abstract

Ukrainian church art of the second half of the XX – beginning of the XXI  century, in particular on the territory of the historical Halychyna, is still a «white spot» of art history. The interior of the Church of the Nativity in Halych, analyzed in the context of the problems of contemporary church art with the definition of important historical events and cultural processes that influenced it, is among the most eloquent examples. The article is focused on the monumental painting of the temple and the problems around it.
